Pitch the podcasts your buyers already hear

Small niche shows need guests and reach exactly your buyer.

When to use it

You have a specific story or data point your buyer cares about, and niche podcasts exist for them.

Steps

  1. Ask five buyers which shows they listen to; search podcast directories for the niche keywords.
  2. Pick ten small shows (under 50 episodes, recent activity) where guests are founders or practitioners.
  3. Listen to one episode of each and note a moment you can reference.
  4. Pitch three concrete episode ideas with a hook and what listeners will learn, not a bio.
  5. Prepare one free resource to mention on air, at a memorable URL.

Template

Subject: Episode idea for [show]: [hook]

Hi [host], loved [specific moment] in [episode]. Three ideas your listeners might like:
1. [Hook] — they'd learn [outcome].
2. …
3. …
I [credibility line]. Happy to fit your format.

How to know it worked

Pitches sent, episodes booked, and visits to the resource URL after each release.

Common mistakes

  • Pitching yourself instead of an episode gets ignored.
  • Big shows are slow and rarely reach a niche buyer.

FirstTen turns this playbook into a ready draft for your business, with the exact buyer and words from your own site.
