Ride a bigger product’s marketplace

If you integrate with a platform your buyers use, its app directory is a free storefront.

When to use it

You integrate (or easily could) with a platform that has an app marketplace or integration directory.

Steps

  1. List the platforms your buyers use every day and check which have public directories.
  2. Ship the smallest useful integration, if you do not have one.
  3. Write the listing for the platform’s user: the job it does inside their tool, with screenshots.
  4. Ask your first users to leave a review there.

Template

[Product] for [Platform]: [the one job it does inside Platform].
- [Benefit 1, in the platform's language]
- [Benefit 2]
Set up in [time]. [Pricing].

How to know it worked

Installs from the marketplace and how many become paying.

Common mistakes

  • Generic listings sink; speak to the platform’s user.
  • Integrations nobody asked for take weeks.
