Give first users a reason to invite one more
Your happiest early users know others like them. Make inviting natural and worth it.
When to use it
You have a few users who got real value, and the product is better with colleagues or peers.
Steps
- Find the moment users feel the value (first result, first saved hour) and ask there, not at signup.
- Offer something both sides want: extra usage, a month free, a feature.
- Make the invite one click with a prefilled message they would actually send.
- Personally thank each referrer.
Template
You just [value moment]. Know someone who [has the same problem]? Invite them — you both get [reward]. Prefilled: "I've been using [product] for [job]; thought of you because [reason]."
How to know it worked
Invites sent per active user and signups from invites.
Common mistakes
- Asking before users get value.
- Rewards that cost you more than a customer is worth.
