Write the answer page AI assistants cite

Buyers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude what to use. Give them a page worth quoting.

When to use it

Your buyer asks a recurring “what is the best X for Y” question and no clear, current answer page exists.

Steps

  1. Ask two or three assistants the exact question your buyer would ask, and note which pages they cite.
  2. Write one page that answers that question directly in the first two sentences, then explains the options with plain facts: who each fits, prices, limits.
  3. Include yourself honestly among the options, with a clear “best for” line.
  4. Use simple headings that repeat the question, a short FAQ, and the date you last updated it.
  5. Re-ask the assistants in two weeks and adjust the page where answers still miss you.

Template

# Best [category] for [buyer] ([year])

Short answer: for [situation], [option]. For [other situation], [option].

## How to choose
- If you need [need]: …

## The options
### [Option] (best for …)
Price: … Limits: …

## FAQ
**[Question buyers ask]?** [Direct answer.]

How to know it worked

Whether assistants mention or cite you when asked the question; referral visits from chat.openai.com, perplexity.ai and similar.

Common mistakes

  • Pages written for keywords, not answers, rarely get cited.
  • Hiding prices or limits makes assistants prefer other sources.
